Musical Direction

As a musical director, Eoin has had the opportunity to work with people of all ages with different theatre companies and performing arts schools in the Ireland and the UK. Eoin has worked as musical director for the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Patrick Gracey Productions, Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, Momentum Performing Arts Academy, Rose Bruford College, Urdang Academy, Irish Youth Musical Theatre and British Youth Musical Theatre. He has musically directed numerous full scale musicals as well as many concerts and showcases. 

 

As well as fundamental skills in accompaniment, conducting, vocal coaching and choral direction, Eoin has also developed proficient skills in arranging and orchestration and music technology. Eoin has experience in working with music software programs such as Sibelius Ultimate, Logic Pro X, ProTools,  MainStage and QLab. He also has extensive experience in creating and using click track technology.

"As clichéd as it may sound, when musically directing, I have always tried to focus on more than just the music and always keep an awareness of the needs of the production as a whole. The element of collaboration is very important within musical theatre. Good communication and understanding are vital in ensuring that all elements of a production are cohesive and work together."
