Suzuki Piano Teaching

"Beautiful tone, beautiful heart" - Dr. Shinichi Suzuki

Eoin started playing piano at age 9 and trained in the Suzuki Method under Máire Ni Dhuibhir. The Suzuki method is an internationally known music teaching philosophy, created by Japanese violinist and pedagogue Dr. Shinichi Suzuki. The method aims to create an environment for learning music which parallels the linguistic environment of acquiring a native language. As a student, Eoin performed as a soloist and as a member of orchestras and ensembles in many venues which include The National Concert Hall in Dublin, the Society of Musicians in Edinburgh and the Irish National Opera House in Wexford.

Since training as a Suzuki student, Eoin trained as a Suzuki piano teacher and in November 2019 received his Level 1 Suzuki Teacher Training from the European Suzuki Association. In 2021 he received his Level 2 and Level 3 of the Suzuki Piano Teacher Training. Eoin has trained under many respectable pianists including Mary McCarthy (Ireland/Scotland), Sue Bird (Wales) and the late Peter Hagn-Meincke (Denmark). Eoin continues to incorporate Dr. Suzuki's teachings of aural training, motivation, repetition and step-by-step mastery into his career as a piano teacher and musical director.
